The type of book that makes you respond to the twists out loud in a good way!
It’s been a while since I’ve read something truly compelling. Melanie Muraviov truly has a way with words that allow you to step inside the book, form bonds with the characters, and feel the emotional turmoil and tension. The imagery was beautiful. The characters became more than just something in a book. It was an absolute masterpiece of a reading experience. I simply could not put it down.
I really enjoyed Blackwood & Nightingale - I feel like the author captured my attention with the prologue and the story continued to hold my attention as it progressed. It was well paced too!
World building in the beginning of the book can loose my attention sometimes - but this one was well blended, there was so much story actively happening during that process that I wanted to keep reading and see what was going to happen with Aslan and Elara.
There are some mystery vibes in the book, but the story is balanced with some rom-com vibes too that keep it from feeling too heavy. Again, I couldn't put it down! Finished in 3 days, definitely a great Fall themed read!
I really enjoyed this book. It was incredibly bingeable and hard to put down. The characters were well written and felt fully developed, and the underlying mystery kept pulling me forward because I genuinely wanted to know what would happen next. It’s the kind of story that keeps you saying “just one more chapter” until you realize how much you’ve already read. Definitely a compelling and enjoyable read.
